  • For the first time, rapper and businessman Cassper Nyovest has spoken candidly about his recent marriage to alleged childhood friend Pulane Mojaki.
  • The pair tied the knot in early April after revealing that he and ex, Thobeka Majozi, had called it quits around two years earlier.
  • Nyovest attributed Majozi's departure to infidelity and to his own sex addiction.

Rapper and businessman Cassper Nyovest is widely famed for his infectious tunes, but more recently, the developments in his personal life have landed him on social media trend lists and made him the talk of the town.

The Siyathandana hitmaker started the year by opening up about finding salvation and getting baptised. As his supporters wrapped their heads around his walk with Christ, Nyovest revealed that he and the mother of his son, Thobeka Majozi, had called it quits, attributed to a sex addiction and infidelity.

After all that, news broke that he was tying the knot with alleged childhood friend Pulane Mojaki. Nyovest, his management and those around him were initially tight-lipped about the wedding, but he eventually confirmed the news on social media.

In a candid discussion during a podcast interview with L-Tido, the 33-year-old opened up for the first time about tying the knot and some of the other recent developments in his personal life.

The rapper said:

I want people to know that I am proudly married and I'm having the time of my life.

Nyovest said he was now speaking about his marriage as he was comfortable but added that it remained private.

"I'm talking about it now because I feel comfortable to talk about it in this state, but maybe from next week, I might not say anything because it is private," he said.

When asked why he decided to marry, the father of one said he "wanted to be an honest man" and "was tired of playing games."

"It was just time to grow up for me, and being saved, I just saw things from the right perspective. And, for the first time in my life, I actually wanted to be married; it was not even about sex. I just wanted to be an honest man and commit to this thing," the rapper said.

Looking back on his big day, initially scheduled for 16 March but took place on 6 April, Nyovest said the most "overpowering" emotion he felt was excitement. He said he was excited to make Mojaki his wife and be a faithful and committed husband.

Aside from the news of him tying the knot, Nyovest and Mojaki landed on social media trend lists on their big day for their fashion and commentary about him looking uncomfortable with her.

Unbothered by the naysayers, he said they both looked good. He added that they chose to defer from traditional Tswana regalia as they wanted to expand their horizons because they are African.

Beyond recently tying the knot, Nyovest spoke about his split with Majozi.

"We had been separated for almost two years, the reason being she left me because of my infidelity. We were co-parenting, and that's what we're still trying to do," he said. "It's not perfect."

"I'll always have respect for Thobeka – she's one of the most amazing human beings and the best mother I could have ever picked to have my firstborn."
