Trustees are often asked to review their decisions about how retirement death benefits are allocated. Sadly, it is usually vulnerable partners and children who have to fight to get their share, says Laura du Preez.

Bizarre video footage of a Brazilian woman trying to get her dead uncle to sign a loan application in the bank has earned the woman much condemnation for disrespecting the dead.

She was also arrested for fraud and violating a corpse, as the footage clearly shows the man was no longer alive. Only time will tell if she was in fact taking advantage of the man’s death or if she acted out of desperation. Some reports say she cared for the man and perhaps she knew his death would cut off her financial support.
