Springbok prop Steven Kitshoff has suffered a United Rugby Championship (URC) season-ending knee injury and will return to South Africa, his Irish club, Ulster, confirmed on their website on Tuesday.

It is unclear just how severe the injury is at this stage and whether Kitshoff will be available for the Springboks' mid-year internationals, which most notably features a two-match series against Ireland in South Africa.
